Groodle

A Groodle (or Goldendoodle) is a hybrid breed that is created by crossing a Golden retriever and a Poodle. They are known for their friendly, intelligent and loving nature, making them a popular breed among pet owners. Their low/non-shedding coats make them suitable for people with allergies and families looking for a dog that won't leave hair throughout the house.

Temperament

Groodles reflect the best traits of both their parents. Golden Retrievers, they have a friendly and outgoing personality. Poodles are known for their loving and sociable nature. This makes Groodles an ideal family pet, as they are great with children and other pets. They also make good therapy dogs, as they have a calming and soothing effect on people.

Size & Colouring

Standard Groodles are considered a large breed taking after the Golden Retriever and Standard Poodle. They typically to grow to approximately 50-60cm to the withers and weigh approximately 20-35kg. Groodles can come in a range of colors and at Braeside Oodles we specialise in cream, gold and red.

Grooming & Maintenance

While Groodles do require regular grooming to maintain their coat, they are not considered to be a high maintenance breed. Groodles are considered a hypoallergenic dog breed due to their low-shedding and allergy-friendly coat. Their allergy-friendly coat makes them a good choice for many people with allergies and/or asthma as they won't have reactions to their coat or dander. Regular brushing can help avoid their coat from becoming matted, allowing you to keep their fluffy coat if you like that look.

Health

At Braeside Oodles, we pride ourselves on providing families with happy and healthy puppies. This is why all our breeding dogs are DNA tested for any genetic problems that can be passed onto their puppies. Our Groodles, along with all other puppies leave our home with the following:

  • Thorough Veterinarian check

  • First Vaccination C3

  • Microchipped

  • Parasite preventative (worm & flea)

All puppies are sold as pets only and as such come with a desexing voucher/contract to have the puppy desexed between 6-12 months of age. We also provide our puppies with a health guarantee so you can be confident you are buying a healthy puppy that will live a long and happy life.

Exercise

Groodles are considered an active breed that requires regular exercise to maintain both their physical and mental health. 40 to 60 minutes of moderate exercise per day, such as a long walk, play session in the park and/or the use of enrichment toys, such as Kongs. It's important that Groodles are given enough physical and mental stimulation to prevent boredom and destructive behaviours such as digging and chewing.
